Q : When are the meetings held?
A : Wednesday nights at 7:30
Q : When and where are the outdoor outings?
A : At least once a month at various locations in NY, CT, and MA
Q : Who are your leaders of the troop?

The Scouts…(In Scouts, the kids are the true leaders of the troop, who develop leadership, physical, and social qualities as they grow older)
Q : How are events communicated?
A : A Scout wide chain of emails from our committee chair will be received once a week that contain any camping and or community service opportunities that arise
Q : What are the expectations for the parents?
A : Because the Scouts run the troop(with guidance when mandatory) the parents are not usually expected at troop meetings, but are expected to help transport them to camp outings or community service projects when signed up.
Q : What are the requirements for Rank advancement and how long does it take to reach each rank?
A : The requirements for each rank can be found here: https://www.scouting.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/Scouts-BSA-Requirements-3321619.pdf but purchasing a boy scout book will be mandatory(which has the requirements in it) as all progress will be tracked there. When advancing ranks, the timeline is different for everyone. When reaching First class, however, it takes a minimum of 2 years before being able to receive the rank of Eagle Scout.
Q : How long should I expect to commit each week/ per month?
A : Each week, the troops' one meeting can be expected to run anywhere between one hour and one and a half hours. Campouts can be one night or three to four depending on vacations/break schedules.
Q : What are the different responsibilities one can carry in the troop?
A : Patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, troop guide, Order of the Arrow troop representative, den chief, scribe, librarian, historian, quartermaster, bugler, junior assistant Scoutmaster, chaplain aide, instructor, webmaster, or outdoor ethics guide.
